Hostel – Merits and Demerits

Merits:-

1.    Social and Cultural gathering:-

In hostels/Pg students come from other states, cities with their own culture and live together under a single roof and learn each other’s cultures.

2.    A home, far from a home:-

Hostlers while living in hostel create an atmosphere like family where they enjoy all the emotions; they understand each other’s problems, help and care. Websites like www.hostelsearch.in helps to get an easy accommodation for many of the cities in India.

3.    Learning attitude:-

Hostel is a learning place where mom’s child learns the small and big things and become a mature person, who is responsible.

Demerits:-

1.    Ragging:-

It does not happen in all hostels but it happens sometimes and this would be a biggest demerit of any hostel/Pg.

2.    Boozing:-

For many boys and girls, hostel/pg is a place for boozing although it is taboo by owner or warden.

3.    Antisocial characters:-

Some antisocial characters are available sometimes in many hostels/pg, they creates the problems for others.

Sometimes it also depends on the hostel that in which hostel and in which ambience they are living. While searching the hostel/pg for students, parents should take care of few things like the atmosphere of the outside in the hostel and as well as inner ambience of the hostel, because it affects a lot.

My one of friend tell me her story that how she was cheated by a broker for hostel/Pg searching.
